Skip Nav Welcome back to our electrical safety blog here at Bill’s Quality Electric, LLC! We have all heard about how Home is Where the Heart is, and for this Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share some examples of how we can “give a heart” to those in our household who are actively being electrically safe and smart, which is just another way to show the love to family. Of course, with more of us staying in the home a lot more, this is even more essential and important for our daily electrical safety. So, are you ready to determine where you can “give a heart”? Let’s do this! We want to “Give a Heart” to our significant other as they choose to vacuum all the rugs in the house or apartment (in preparation for Valentine’s Day coming up!) and they double check the cord to be sure there is no wear and tear going on, thus keeping the appliance free of electrical hazards. (Electrical shock prevention is the focus here.) Shall we “Give a Heart” to the sweet teenager who offers to cook a full Valentine’s Dinner for the family, being sure to keep combustibles away from the stove top and remaining in the kitchen while cooking. It smells delish, doesn’t it? (Cooking fires averted is the focus here.) We’ll also “Give a Heart” to the other teenager in the house who is plugging in their cell phone to charge on a hard surface away from combustibles and thus eliminating the possibility of overheating on a pillow or blanket. (Fire prevention is the focus here.) Let’s “Give a Heart” to the responsible and well-instructed child who has learned how to use the plug rather than the wire when inserting and removing an electrical device to and from an outlet carefully, thus keeping that wire in good condition, with no splits or breakage. (Electrical shock prevention with children is the focus here.) And finally, let’s “Give a Heart” to the puppy dog, Fido, for chewing on his bone instead of electrical wires, keeping him electrically safe! Let’s give him a scratch behind the ears for being a good furry friend! (Electrical shock prevention for pets is the focus here.) So, who will you “Give a Heart” to this Valentine’s Day for a family member’s proactive example of Staying Electrically Safe and Smart? And if you’re going solo, be sure to “Give Yourself a Heart”! Here’s to Staying Electrically Safe and Smart as we celebrate the Love between family members and friends who live in the same space and enjoy the Comforts of Home, where the Heart is!
