Electrical Safety: Holiday Happiness Hints

Bill’s Quality Electric, LLC would like to share some electrical safety and shock prevention tips for your holiday weekend so you can protect yourself, your family and friends as you celebrate.

When playing outdoors, be sure to be aware of any power lines in the vicinity to help avoid contact.

When you’re in or around the swimming pool, be sure not to use any electronics when near the water to avoid electrical shock.

Speaking of swimming pools, have a licensed electrician inspect your pool’s equipment and any underground lighting to be sure there isn’t any electrical current entering the water.

If you’re engaging in activity near a lake where boats are docked and powered by electrical components, be sure not to swim in those areas to help avoid electrical shock from current that may be present due to electrical components not working correctly, and if you are a boat owner, have an inspection done to be sure all is in working order.
