Bill’s Quality Electric, LLC shares an electrical safety word of warning in association with a family’s story of a son’s fatality due to electric shock drowning (ESD). We share this story in order to get the word out about the dangers of electricity and water, especially around boats and boat docks plugged in to power sources. Specific recommendations for electrical systems and their maintenance and the importance of GFCIs is included in order to drastically reduce if not eliminate the tragedy of ESD. Please do what you can to keep your boat’s electrical system running properly with regular inspections and maintenance; you might just help eliminate the possibility of a fatality.
